1 Type and division of specialization
1.0.1 Type of heat insulation and heat preservation
Heat insulation of equipment and piping generally refers to thermal insulation, cold insulation, physical protection (scald prevention), anti-freezing, etc. Heat preservation generally refers to heat protection and heat insulation, such as heat tracing pipes and jacketed pipes.
1.0.2 Specialization division of heat insulation and heat preservation design
1.0.2.1 Chemical process specialty
The chemical process specialty requires heat (cold) insulation and heat preservation (including type and heat source medium of heat preservation) in process data sheets of equipment and pipes.
1.0.2.2 Pipe material specialty
The following are proposed by the pipe material specialty in the design specification of heat insulation and heat preservation (or in the instructions for heat insulation and heat preservation):
(1) The thickness of the thermal (cold) insulation layer, and those for physical protection (scald prevention) of equipment and pipe under different temperatures with different diameters, with the exception of those with special heat insulation requirements on process.
(2) The data related to the heat tracing and heat preservation of equipment and pipes, such as the number and diameter of heat tracing pipes, the diameter of jacketed pipes, the number and specification of ribbon heater.
(3) Summary list of materials needed for heat (cold) insulation and heat preservation.
1.0.2.3 Process system specialty
(1) The data sheet for the utility material system equipment in the proposed installation shall contain the requirements for the heat (cold) insulation and heat preservation (including type and heat source medium of heat preservation) of the equipment.
(2) In the fifth unit of the pipe number of the pipe on the PI diagram, the type of heat (cold) insulation and heat preservation shall be indicated by the prescribed character code.
(3) The type and thickness of heat (cold) insulation and heat preservation shall be filled in in the columns of heat insulation type and heat insulation thickness in the pipe naming table.
(4) The summary table of equipment heat insulation and heat preservation conditions shall be proposed and, where necessary, the heat insulation and heat preservation sign drawing of the equipment shall be attached. Refer to professional standard HG 20558.2-93 Provisions on contents of documents submitted by process system specialty, 1.19 and 1.18 for the contents and formats of summary table and sign drawing.
