1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, type and basic parameters, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging and storage period of three-phase induction motor for variable frequency speed adjusting control for shield machine.
This standard is applicable to three-phase induction cage motor for variable frequency speed adjusting control for 4m, 6m, 9m, 12m, and 15m shield machine cutter (hereinafter referred to as “motor”). It is also a reference for the motors of other shield machine cutters.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 755-2008 and the following apply.

shield machine
tunnel boring machine, which has the functions of excavation, cutting, conveying, assembling, lining, measuring, guiding and correcting.
Note: The tunnel boring machine includes earth pressure balance shield machine, slurry shield machine, hard rock TBM, etc. In this standard, “tunnel boring machine” is called "shield machine” for short.
3.2
breakout torque
stall torque at the lowest starting frequency of the motor.
Note: During the construction of the shield machine, the cutter head may be difficult to start due to deformation of the construction surface, long-term shutdown, etc. It is necessary to continue the operation of the cutter head in the escape mode, and the torque at this time is about 30% higher than the rated torque and is called the breakout torque.
