This standard replaces GB/T 2626-1992 General technical requirements for self-inhalation filtertype dust respirator, GB/T 6223-1997 Self-inhalation filter type particles respirator, GB/T 6224.1-1986 Test method for total inward leakage of filtering particle respirator, GB/T 6224.2-1986 Test method for filter efficiency of filtering particle respirator, GB/T 6224.3-1986 Test method for the dead space of filtering particle respirator and GB/T 6224.4-1986 Test method for airflow resistance of respiration of filtering particle respirator from the implementation date hereof. The following main changes have been made with respect to GB/T 2626-1992: ——The standard name is changed from General technical requirements for self-inhalation filtertype dust respirator to Respiratory protective equipment - Non-powered air-purifying particle respirator. ——Protection objects of the products concerned are extended from dust to various particles including dust, fume, mist and microorganism. ——The term and definition of non-powered air-purifying respirator are added. ——A new type of facepiece - full facepiece as well as relevant technical requirements and testing methods are added. ——Particle filter elements are classified to those for non-oil particles (marked as KN) and those for oil particles (marked as KP), and their respective testing conditions are specified. ——The testing conditions for filter efficiency are changed; medical talcum powder is replaced; sodium chloride is used to represent non-oil particles and DOP is used to represent oil particles; the size of particle hardest to be filtered is used; testing flow is increase from 30L/min to 85L/min; initial testing filter efficiency is changed to loading filter efficiency. ——Filter efficiency grading of filter elements is added, including three filter efficiency grades - 90.0%, 95.0% and 99.97% for half facepiece, and two filter efficiency grades - 95.0% and 99.97% for full facepiece. ——Technical requirements and testing methods are added for the total inward leakage (applicable to disposable facepiece) and inward leakage (applicable to replaceable facepiece) of respirator facepiece. ——The testing flow for inhalation resistance and exhalation resistance is increased from 30L/min to 85L/min. ——Inhalation resistance and wet resistance rise values and technical requirements of facepiece quality are deleted. ——Technical requirements and testing methods for exhalation valve air-tightness and dead space are changed. ——Technical requirements and testing methods for head harness, connection and interconnecting piece, exhalation valve bonnet and combustibility of respirator are added. ——Evaluation methods are added for the respirator cleaning and disinfection methods provided by the manufacturer. ——Requirements are added for the information to be provided by the manufacturer Annexes A, B and C of this standard are informative. This standard was proposed by the State Administration of Work safety. This standard is under the jurisdiction of SAC/TC 112 National Technical Committee on Personal Protective Equipment of Standardization Administration of China. This standard was issued in 1981 for the first time and was revised as GB/T 2626-1992 in 1992 for the first time. Respiratory protective equipment - Non-powered air-purifying particle respirator 1 Scope This standard specifies the technical requirements, testing methods and identification of non-powered air-purifying particle respirator. This standard is applicable to the non-powered air-purifying respiratory protective equipment for various particles. This standard is not applicable to the respiratory protective equipment for harmful gas and vapor. This standard is not applicable to the respiratory protective equipment used in the anoxic environment, underwater operation, escape process and fire fighting process. 2 Normative references The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. Tight-fitting facepiece is classified into half facepiece and full facepiece [GB/T 18664-2002, Definition 3.1.5] 3.8 half facepiece tight-fitting facepiece capable of covering the mouth and nose or covering the mouth, nose and lower jaw 3.9 full facepiece tight-fitting facepiece capable of covering the mouth, nose, eyes and lower jaw 3.10 disposable facepiece non-detachable half facepiece mainly composed of filter materials, with/without exhalation valve, generally incapable to be reused by washing and to be discarded in case of any component failure 3.11 replaceable facepiece tight-fitting facepiece equipped with single or several replaceable filter elements, with/without respiration valve or breathing hose 3.12 inhalation valve check valve fitted on the respiratory protective equipment that only allows the entry of inhaled air but prevents the exhaust of exhaled air 3.13 exhalation valve check valve fitted on the respiratory protective equipment that only allows the exhaust of exhaled air but prevents the entry of inhaled air 3.14 breathing hose flexible and airtight air duct connecting facepiece and filter element 3.15 filter element filter material or filter assembly that is used in the air-purifying respiratory protective equipment for filtering the harmful substances in the inhaled air Example: canister (toxicant filter box), dust filter box, filter material, etc. [GB/T 18664-2002, Definition 3.1.22] 3.16 filter efficiency percentage of particles removed by the filter element under specified testing conditions 3.17 total inward leakage TIL the ratio of the concentration of simulation agent leaked into the facepiece from all the components including filter element to that of simulation agent in the inhaled air when the subject inhales under the specified testing conditions in laboratory, expressed in percentage 3.18 inward leakage IL the ratio of the concentration of simulation agent leaked into the facepiece from all the components other than filter element to that of simulation agent in the inhaled air when the subject inhales under the specified testing conditions in laboratory, expressed in percentage 3.19 dead space the volume of air re-inhaled from the previously exhaled air, expressed by the volume fraction of carbon dioxide in the inhaled air 3.20 head harness component used for fixing the facepiece on head 4 Classification and designation 4.1 Facepiece classification Facepieces are classified into disposable facepieces, replaceable half facepieces and full facepieces by structure. 4.2 Filter element classification Filter elements are classified into Type KN and Type KP by filtering performance; wherein, the former is only applicable to non-oil particles while the latter is applicable to oil and non-oil particles. 4.3 Filter element grading According to the filter efficiency, the filter elements are graded according to those specified in Table 1.   Table 1 Filter element grades Type of filter element Type of facepiece Disposable facepiece Replaceable half facepiece Full facepiece Type KN KN90 KN95 KN100 KN90 KN95 KN100 KN95 KN100 Type KP KP90 KP95 KP100 KP90 KP95 KP100 KP95 KP100 4.4 Designation As for the disposable facepiece and replaceable facepiece, their filter elements shall be marked with grades in the form of combining the serial number and year of this standard and the type and grade of the filter element. Example 1: KN90 filter element is marked as: GB 2626-2006 KN90. Example 2: KN100 filter element is marked as: GB 2626-2006, KP100. 5 Technical requirements 5.1 General requirements 5.1.1 The materials shall meet the following requirements: a) The materials directly contacting face shall be harmless to the skin; b) The filter materials shall be harmless to human body; c) The materials adopted shall be endurable enough to be free from damage or deformation during the normal service life. 5.1.2 Structure design shall meet the following requirements: a) It shall be not prone to generating structural damage; the component design, composition and installation shall not endanger the users; b) Head harness shall be designed to be adjustable, for the convenience of wearing and removing; it shall be able to fix the facepiece to the face firmly, free from obvious oppression or tenderness; the head harness of replaceable half facepiece or full facepiece shall be designed to be replaceable; c) Dead space shall be minimized and field of view shall be maximized as much as possible; d) During wearing, the lens of full facepiece shall be free from atomization or other conditions affecting the visual effect; e) The respiratory protective equipment with replaceable filter element, inhalation valve, exhalation valve and head harness shall be designed so that they can be replaced conveniently and the user can inspect the air-tightness of facepiece with face conveniently at any time; f) The breathing hose shall not restrict the head movement or the user's action, not affect the tight fitting of facepiece, and be free of air flow restriction or blocking. g) The disposable facepiece structure shall ensure the tight fitting with face, and be free from deformation during the service life. 5.2 Appearance inspection Appearance is inspected according to the method specified in 6.1. The sample shall be free from damage, deformation and other obvious defects on surface; the component material and structure shall be able to withstand the normal use conditions as well as possible temperature, humidity and mechanical impact; the head harness shall be adjustable; the head harness of replaceable facepiece shall be designed to be replaceable; the lens of full facepiece shall be free from atomization or other conditions affecting the visual effect. After being pretreated in terms of temperature, humidity and mechanical strength in accordance with the method specified in 6.2, the components shall be free from shedding, damage or deformation. Inspection contents shall also cover various information provided in the identification and by the manufacturer. 5.3 Filter efficiency Type N filter elements shall be tested with sodium chloride (NaCl) particles; Type P filter elements shall be tested with dioctyl phthalate (DOP) or equivalent oil particles (e.g. paraffin oil). Filter efficiency shall be tested according to the method specified in 6.3. During the testing process, the filter efficiency of each sample shall always be in accordance with those specified in Table 2.
