See Annex A for the severity of arc burn. This standard is applicable to the prevention of thermal burn 3.4 arc protection protection to reduce the possible harm of arc to human body by blocking the harmful energy of incident arc when an arc occurs, so that the residual energy is not enough to cause degree II and above burns to human body 3.5 arc thermal performance value ATPV energy value indicating that the energy incident on the arc protection material has a 50% possibility of causing thermal energy to penetrate through the material and just causing degree II burn (determined based on Stoll curve). When the external incident energy is less than the value, the material can effectively block and reduce the passing energy, so as to avoid causing degree II and above burns to human body 3.6 breakopen threshold energy Ebt energy value indicating that the energy incident on the single-layer or multi-layer arc protection fabric has a 50% possibility of causing the fabric to break. During the arc protection performance test, the holes with a total area of more than 160mm2 or a single length of more than 25mm on the arc protective fabric are regarded as cracks. For multi-layer arc protective fabric, the holes shall penetrate all layers of the fabric 3.7 inherent flame resistant flame resistance and heat insulation performance formed due to the molecular structure of the protective material itself, which will not decrease with the condition changes 3.8 after-finishing flame resistant flame resistance and heat insulation performance for material obtained via dyeing and finishing method by applying a certain amount of chemicals, which will not decrease with the condition changes 3.9 personal arc protective equipment personal protective equipment used to protect human body that may be exposed to arc related thermal hazards, including arc protective garment, arc protective face shield, arc protective hood, arc protective gloves and arc protective shoes cover 3.10 arc protective garment protective equipment used to protect human trunk, arms and legs that may be exposed to arc related thermal hazards 3.11 arc protective face shield protective equipment used to protect human eyes and face that may be exposed to arc related thermal hazards 3.12 arc protective hood protective equipment used to protect human head and neck that may be exposed to arc related thermal hazards 3.13 arc protective gloves protective equipment used to protect human hands that may be exposed to arc related thermal hazards 3.14 arc protective shoes cover protective equipment used to protect human feet that may be exposed to arc related thermal hazards 3.15 protection level of personal arc protective equipment requirements for defining levels of arc protective performance of personal arc protective equipment. The levels are determined according to those specified in Table 1 based on the ATPV and Ebt of the protective material, of which the lower level shall be the protection level of personal arc protective equipment. When the arc energy incident on the protective material is not higher than the ATPV and Ebt of the protective material, the residual energy is not enough to produce degree II burn or above 4 Technical requirements 4.1 Performance of personal arc protection materials 4.1.1 Performance of protective fabric 4.1.1.1 Arc protection The arc protection performance of single-layer or multiple-layer personal arc protective fabric (referred to as fabric) shall be tested according to 5.1; the mass per unit area shall be determined according to Method 3 of GB/T 4669-2008. The fabric shall also meet the requirements of ATPV, Ebt and mass per unit area specified in Table 1. For personal arc protection equipment of level 1 and level 2, the mass per unit area of the fabric or the outer fabric shall meet those specified in Table 1. For personal arc protection equipment of level 3 and level 4, if the multi-layer fabric combination is used, the mass per unit area of the outer fabric shall meet those specified in Table 1 for level 1 and level 2; the mass per unit area of the fabric combination shall meet those specified in Table 1 for level 3 and level 4 respectively.
