This document is applicable to the identification of various textile fibers. 2 Normative references The following documents contain requirements which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. FZ/T 01057.1 Test method for identification of textile fibers - Part 1: General introduction 3 Terms and definitions No terms and definitions are listed in this document. 4 Principle Observe the longitudinal and cross-sectional morphological characteristics of unknown fibers with a microscope and/or microscopic image analyzer, and compare with those of known fibers to identify the types of unknown fibers. 5 Instruments, tools and reagents 5.1 Apparatus 5.1.1 Biological microscope, at least 100x magnification. 5.1.2 Microscopic image analyzer: containing microscope, camera, computer, acquisition card, special analysis software and display. The objective lens and eyepiece of the microscope shall be capable of providing a total magnification of at least 500x. A micrometer scale for calibrating the magnification of the instrument shall be provided. 5.1.3 Hastelloy microtome, which can cut fiber sections with a thickness of 10μm to 30μm. 5.1.4 Rotary microtome, which is equipped with concealed silent ratchet, crank slider and high-precision guide rail standard block, and can continuously cut fiber sections with uniform thickness. The adjustment range of section thickness is 1μm to 40μm. 5.2 Tools 5.2.1 Glass slide, 76.2mm×24.5mm×2mm. 5.2.2 Coverslip, 18 mm×18 mm or 24mm×24 mm. 5.2.3 Dropper. 5.2.4 Blade. 5.2.5 Tweezers. 5.2.6 Black paper box. 5.3 Reagent 5.3.1 Anhydrous ethanol: analytically pure. 5.3.2 Ethanol (with a volume fraction of 80%): dilute 80mL anhydrous ethanol with water to 100mL. 5.3.3 Ethanol (with a volume fraction of 90%): dilute 90mL anhydrous ethanol with water to 100mL. 5.3.4 Anhydrous ether, analytically pure. 5.3.5 Collodion, analytically pure. 5.3.6 Glycerol, analytically pure. 5.3.7 Liquid paraffin, analytically pure (with a refractive index between 1.43 and 1.53). 5.3.8 Paraffin section. 6 Specimen The preparation and pretreatment of specimens shall be carried out according to the requirements of FZ/T 01057.1.
