1 Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements, sampling and environmental conditions, marking, and the necessary information provided by manufacturers in the instructions for use of protective gloves against mechanical risks, as well as describes the test methods for such gloves.
This document is applicable to gloves designed to protect against mechanical hazards such as abrasion, cutting, tearing, puncture, or impact.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
protective gloves against mechanical risks
gloves used to protect against at least one mechanical injury risk during wear, cutting, tearing, and puncture
3.2
glove series
single glove type with the same palm material up to the wrist line where the only variants are dimension, length, left/right hand use and colour
3.3
arm
part of the body between the wrist and the shoulder
3.4
number of rubs
number of revolutions of the outer drive wheel of the Martindale abrasion tester
Note: The Martindale abrasion tester has two outer drive wheels that rotate 16 times and an inner drive wheel that rotates 15 times, forming a complete Lissajous pattern in their motion trajectory.
4 Technical requirements
4.1 General protection requirements
The protective gloves complying with this document shall first meet the applicable requirements in GB 42298-2022. The wear resistance, tear resistance, and puncture resistance of protective gloves against mechanical risks shall meet at least the minimum requirement Grade 1 listed in Table 1, and the blade cut resistance shall meet at least the minimum requirement Grad 1 listed in Table 1 or the minimum requirement Grade A listed in Table 2.
Note: Gloves that meet puncture resistance requirements may not necessarily be suitable for preventing punctures from sharp objects, such as syringe needles or other sharp objects.
