GB 5959 consists of the following 13 parts under the general title Safety in electroheat installations: ——Part 1: General requirements; ——Part 2: Particular requirements for arc furnace installations; ——Part 3: Particular requirements for induction and conduction heating and induction melting installations; ——Part 4: Particular requirements for safety resistance heating installations ——Part 41: Particular requirements for resistance heating equipment - Heating and melting glass equipment; ——Part 5: Specifications for safety in plasma devices; ——Part 6: Specifications for safety in industrial microwave heating equipment; ——Part 7: Particular requirements for installations with electron guns; ——Part 8: Particular requirements for electroslag remelting furnaces; ——Part 9: Particular requirements for high-frequency dielectric heating installations; ——Part 10: Particular requirements for electrical resistance trace heating systems for industrial and commercial applications; ——Part 11: Particular requirements for installations for electromagnetic stirring, transport or pouring of metal liquids; ——Part 13: Particular requirements for electroheat installation with explosive atmosphere. This is Part 13 of GB 5959. Except for this part, other parts of GB 5959 are formulated using the corresponding parts of IEC 60519 Safety in electroheat installations. This part was proposed by China Electrical Equipment Industrial Association. This part is under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Industrial Electroheat Equipment of Standardization Administration of China. This part is issued for the first time. Safety in electroheat installations - Part 13: Particular requirements for electroheat installation with explosive atmosphere 1 Scope This part specifies particular requirements for electroheat installations with explosive atmosphere on personal safety and device safety. This part is applicable to electroheat installations with explosive atmosphere, such as drying and curing ovens and other similar products for workpieces after being soaked or painted with combustible and explosive solutions. This part is not applicable to electroheat installations with protective atmosphere or control atmosphere. This part shall be used in conjunction with GB 5959.1. 2 Normative references The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this part of GB 5959, constitute provisions of this part. For dated references, subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) to, or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, all parties coming to an agreement according to this part are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document applies. Where the air contains a certain concentration of combustible gas or vapor, explosion may occur if the gas or vapor makes contact with sparks and then fire spreads. The lowest concentration is called the lower explosion limit while the highest concentration is called the upper explosion limit. No explosion will occur if the concentration of combustible gas or vapor exceeds or lowers this range. 3.5 quantity of solvent amount of solvent brought into the furnace by a workpiece 4 Classification of electroheat installations by voltage section The classification shall meet the requirements in Clause 4 of GB/T 5959.1-2005 and relevant special safety requirements.
