1 Scope This part of GB/T 12545 specifies the measurement methods of fuel consumption for passenger cars. This part is applicable to Category M1 and N1 vehicles with the maximum design total mass of not more than 3.5 t. 2 Normative References The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this part of GB/T 12545, constitute provisions of this part. For dated references, subsequent amendments to, or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, parties to agreements based on this part are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies. GB 18352.3-2005 Limits and measurement methods for emissions from light-duty vehicles GB/T 19233 Measurement methods of fuel consumption for light-duty vehicles (ECE R101-00, NEQ) GB/T 15089 Classification of power-driven vehicles and trailers (GB/T 15089-2001, eqv ECE R.E.3: 1997) 3 Measurement items 3.1 Measurement of fuel consumption in the driving cycle specified in GB 18352. 3.2 Measurement of fuel consumption in the driving at a constant speed of 90 km/h 3.3 Measurement of fuel consumption in the driving at a constant speed of 120 km/h For the vehicles driving with a maximum speed of less than 120 km/h, the measurement shall be carried out at the constant maximum speed by reference to relevant provisions. 4 Measurement conditions 4.1 Vehicle under measurement 4.1.1 The vehicle under measurement requires no running-in during the measurement specified in Sub-clause 3.1. Prior to the measurements specified in Sub-clauses 3.2 and 3.3, the vehicle shall be subjected to running-in for at least 3000 km. 4.1.2 Engine and vehicle controls shall be adjusted as required by the manufacturer. In particular, the idle speed device (the rotational speed and CO content in the exhaust gas), the starter and the emission control system shall be adjusted. 4.1.3 In order to avoid the formation of the mixture due to accidental intake, the sealing of the intake system of the vehicle under measurement shall be checked. 4.1.4 The performance of the vehicle under measurement shall be in accordance with the requirements of the manufacturer and such vehicle shall run normally and be smooth in cold start and hot start. 4.1.5 Prior to the measurement, the vehicle shall be placed at an ambient temperature of 20℃~30℃ for at least 6 h, until the engine oil temperature and coolant temperature is ±2℃ of the ambient temperature. The vehicle shall be measured within 30 h after the operation at normal temperature.
