1 Scope This part of GB/T 13772 specifies applying fixed load method to determine the slippage resistance of yarns at a seam in woven fabrics. This method is applicable to all woven fabrics for clothing and decoration and elastic woven fabrics (including fabrics with elastic yarns) and is not applicable to fabrics for industry (like fabric tape). 2 Normative References The clauses in the following documents, through reference to this part of GB/T 13772, constitute provisions of this part. For dated references, all subsequent modification or revision (excluding correction contents) are not applicable to this Part. However, all concerned Parties are encouraged to study if the latest editions of these documents can be applied. For undated references, the latest editions of the normative documents are applicable to this part. Note: The seam slippage has fabric property and shall not be confused with seam strength. 3.4 Warp slippage The warp is vertical to extension direction and moves along weft yarn. 3.5 Weft slippage The weft is vertical to extension direction and moves along warp yarn. 3.6 Seam allowance The distance between stitch line and selvage near seam material 3.7 Seam opening The maximum width of seam after yarn slippage in fabric 4 Principle The rectangular sample is seamed along the width after being folded; then it shall be cut alongside the folding line before using clamper to clamp the sample and exerting tension load perpendicular to seam direction; last, it shall determine the seam opening produced when exerting given load.
