This part of GB/T 13871 specifies the nominal dimensions of rotary shaft lip type seals incorporating elastomeric sealing elements; specifies six basic types of seal rings, which are described and shown in Figure 1; also includes dimensional limits for the shafts and housings to assure interchangeability of seals made by different seal manufactures. The recommend tolerances are also given for the seals nominal dimensions.
This part is applicable to the rotary shaft lip type seals suitable for shafts from 6 mm ~ 400 mm diameter and accompanying housing from 16 mm ~ 440 mm, and not applicable to the rotary shaft lip type seals used at the higher pressure (greater than 0.05 MPa) .
