本标准于１９９４年首次发布。本标准代替ＧＢ／Ｔ１５３３７—１９９４《原子吸收光谱分析法通则》。本标准规定了用原子吸收光谱仪进行定量分析的通用规则。本标准适用于利用原子吸收光谱仪对从常量到痕量化学素的定量分析。本标准与ＧＢ／Ｔ１５３３７—１９９４主要差异如下：
———在７．２．５．２中增加了消除物理干扰的内容；
———在９．２．３中将“应放置在橡胶或合成树脂板等绝缘物上面”改为“不应放置在橡胶或合成树脂板等绝缘物上面”；
———删除了原标准附录Ａ。
