1 Scope
This document specifies methods for measuring the thickness, width and length, as well as the squareness, edge straightness and flatness of wood-based panels.
This document is applicable to the dimensional determination of wood-based panels.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
squareness
distance (δ1, see Figure 1) between the edge of the panel and the edge of a right-angle ruler, or degree to which the four corners of a rectangular wood-based panel form an exact right angle

edge straightness
degree of lateral bending deformation in the perpendicular direction to the edge of the panel (including the length edge and the width edge)
Note: Edge straightness includes the edge straightness of the length edge and the edge straightness of the width edge.
3.3
flatness
maximum distance between the surface of the panel and the horizontal surface
4 Determination method
4.1 Apparatus
4.1.1 Micrometer or similar measuring instrument, of scale interval 0.01 mm, having the measuring head of diameter between 6.0 mm to 20.0 mm. Select the measuring range according to the measured size.
4.1.2 Steel measuring tape, of scale interval 1 mm. Select the measuring range according to the measured size.
