1 Scope This standard specifies the hardness test methods on welded joints. This standard is applicable to the arc welded joints of metallic materials, and the hardness tests on other joints (such as pressure welded joint and surfacing metal) may also be implemented by reference to this standard. This standard is not applicable to the hardness test on austenitic stainless steel welds. 2 Normative References The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard.
