GB 4094-2016 Symbols for controls, indicators and tell-tales of vehicles GB/T 5620 Road vehicles — Braking of automotive vehicles and their trailers — Terms and definitions GB 21670-2008 Technical requirements and testing methods for passenger vehicle and braking systems GB/T 34590.1~34590.10 Road vehicles — Functional safety GB 34660 Road vehicles — Requirements and test methods of electromagnetic compatibility 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions established in GB/T 5620 and the following ones apply. 3.1 advanced emergency braking system; AEBS system that monitors the driving environment in front of the vehicle in real time, and automatically starts the vehicle braking system to slow down the vehicle at risk of collision, so as to avoid or reduce collision 3.2 subject vehicle vehicles tested according to relevant requirements of passenger car AEBS 3.3 target ordinary passenger car manufactured in large quantities and defined according to GB/T 3730.1, or representative object whose detection parameters can represent such passenger cars and whose characteristics are applicable to AEBS sensing detection 3.4 stationary target target which stays stationary in the center of the same lane in front of the subject vehicle 3.5 moving target target moving in the same direction at a constant speed in the center of the same lane in front of the subject vehicle 3.6 braking target target driving in the same direction with the subject vehicle at a constant speed right in front of the subject vehicle in the center of driving route, then starting to decelerate 3.7 emergency braking phase phase when the subject vehicle starts to decelerate at least 4 m/s2 under the control of AEBS 3.8 common space area where two or more information functions (e.g., marks) may be displayed asynchronously [GB 4094-2016, 3.6] 3.9 time to collision; TTC time obtained by dividing the distance between the subject vehicle and the target by the instantaneous relative speed of the subject vehicle and the target 4 Technical requirements 4.1 General requirements 4.1.1 Vehicles equipped with AEBS shall be provided with anti-lock braking system as specified in GB 21670-2008. 4.1.2 Electromagnetic compatibility of AEBS shall meet the requirements of GB 3466. 4.1.3 The functional safety of AEBS shall be implemented in accordance with Annex A. 4.2 Pre-warning and warning signals 4.2.1 AEBS shall be able to provide the driver with the following appropriate pre-warning and warning signals: a) A collision warning signal shall be issued when AEBS detects a risk of collision with a vehicle of Category M, N or O that may be traveling at a lower speed, slowing down or stationary in the same lane ahead. The warning signal shall meet the requirements of 4.2.2. b) In case of AEBS failure which may hinder the compliance with this standard, a failure warning signal shall be issued. The warning signal shall meet the requirements of 4.2.5. c) No obvious delay is allowed in AEBS self-inspection and, in case of electrical and electronic failure, lighting up the warning lamp. d) For vehicles equipped with AEBS manual function closing device, a shutdown warning shall be issued when AEBS manual function is turned off. The yellow warning signal may be used as the warning signal in accordance with 4.2.5. 4.2.2 At least two of the acoustic, tactile and optical signals for pre-warning shall be adopted for the collision warning mentioned in 4.2.1a). 4.2.3 The vehicle manufacturer shall explain the pre-warning, warning signal indication method and the sequence of warning to the driver in the vehicle instruction manual. 4.2.4 If the optical signal is used as one of the collision warning signals, the display symbol specified in 4.2.5 may be used to send out the warning signal by flash. 4.2.5 The failure warning signal shall be a normally bright yellow warning signal, which may be displayed in words or graphics. This requirement is not applicable to signal device located in common space. 4.2.6 Each optical warning signal shall be on and lit when the ignition (start) switch is in the “ON” (operating) state or when the ignition (start) switch is in a position between the “ON” (operating) and “START” designated by the manufacturer for inspection. This requirement is not applicable to the warning signal displayed in common space. 4.2.7 The optical warning signal shall be clearly visible even during the day, so that the driver can check the signal status at the driving position. 4.3 Performance requirements 4.3.1 Basic performance AEBS shall meet the following requirements during normal operation: a) Pre-warning and emergency braking functions are available; b) Except for the conditions specified in 4.5, the system shall operate normally at a speed ranging from 15 km/h to the maximum operating speed of the AEBS system under all loads of vehicle; c) If the collision cannot be predicted in time due to any vehicle cutting in line ahead, the collision warning signal shall not be issued 1s before the emergency braking, then the collision warning signal shall be issued no later than the emergency braking stage. 4.3.2 Pre-warning and starting performance under stationary target condition 4.3.2.1 The test shall be carried out according to 5.3, and the subject vehicle shall be warned in at least two modes of acoustics, tactus and optics one second at the latest before the start of emergency braking phase. The speed drop in the pre-warning phase shall not exceed 15 km/h or 30% of the speed of the subject vehicle, whichever is larger. 4.3.2.2 The subject vehicle shall not collide with the stationary target. 4.3.2.3 The emergency braking phase shall not start 3s before the estimated collision time. 4.3.2.4 At least three out of the five tests shall meet the requirements of 4.3.2.1 ~ 4.3.2.3. 4.3.3 Pre-warning and starting performance under the condition of moving target 4.3.3.1 The test shall be carried out according to 5.4, and the subject vehicle shall be warned in at least two modes of acoustics, tactus and optics one second at the latest before the start of emergency braking phase. The speed which drops in the pre-warning phase shall not exceed 15 km/h or 30% of the speed of the subject vehicle, and the speed rate whichever is higher shall be taken. 4.3.3.2 The subject vehicle shall not collide with the moving target. 4.3.3.3 The emergency braking phase shall not start 3s before the estimated collision time. 4.3.3.4 At least three out of the five tests shall meet the requirements of 4.3.3.1 ~ 4.3.3.3. 4.3.4 Pre-warning and starting performance under braking target conditions 4.3.4.1 The test shall be carried out according to 5.5, and the subject vehicle shall be warned by 1s in at least two modes of acoustics, tactus and optics at the latest before the start of emergency braking phase. The speed which drops in the pre-warning phase shall not exceed 15 km/h or 30% of the speed of the subject vehicle, and the speed rate whichever is higher shall be taken. 4.3.4.2 The subject vehicle shall not collide with the braking target. 4.3.4.3 The emergency braking phase shall not start 3s before the estimated collision time. 4.3.4.4 At least three out of the five tests shall meet the requirements of 4.3.4.1 ~ 4.3.4.3. 4.4 Warning signal after system failure The test shall be carried out according to 5.6. The always-on optical warning signal in accordance with GB 4094-2016 shall be activated when the vehicle is running at a speed greater than 15 km/h for 10 s; and as long as the failure still exists, the vehicle will turn off the ignition in a stationary state. After the switch is turned on again, the failure warning signal shall be lit again immediately.
