This is Part 1 of GB/T 5584. This part is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This part replaces GB/T 5584.1-2009 Rectangular copper or aluminium and its alloy wires for electrical purposes—Part 1: General, and the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 5584.1-2009: ——The normative references are modified (see Clause 2 hereof; Clause 2 of Edition 2009); ——The terms and definitions are modified (see Clause 3 hereof; Clause 3 of Edition 2009); ——The status code of rectangular wire is modified (see 4.1 hereof; 4.2 of Edition 2009); ——The cross-sectional shape of rectangular wire is added (see Clause 5 hereof); ——The dimension range of rectangular wire is modified (see 7.1 hereof; 6.1 of Edition 2009); ——Annex A is deleted (see Annex A of Edition 2009). This part was proposed by China Electrical Equipment Industry Association. This part is under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Bare Wires of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 422). The previous editions of this part are as follows: ——GB/T 5584.1-1985 and GB/T 5584.1-2009. Rectangular copper or aluminium and its alloy wires for electrical purposes —Part 1: General 1 Scope This part of GB/T 5584 specifies the terms and definitions, codes and representation methods, cross-sections, materials, dimensions and deviations, mechanical properties, electrical properties, joints, straightness, surface quality, delivery mass, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transportation and storage of rectangular copper or aluminium and its alloy wires and strip copper conductor for electrical purposes. This part is applicable to the manufacture of windings of motors, electrical appliances and other equipment, the installation of distribution equipment and other rectangular copper or aluminium and its alloy wires and strip copper conductor for electrical purposes. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
