In addition to editorial changes, the following main technical changes have been made with respect to MH/T 6029-2003: ——the name of the standard is revised from Passenger loading steps to Passenger stairs; ——the requirements for the distribution of axle loads on passenger stairs are modified (see 3.1.14; 4.2.7 of Edition 2003); ——the requirements for the installation of external lighting and light signalling devices are modified (see 3.1.15; 4.2.18 of Edition 2003); ——the relevant requirements of electric passenger stairs are added (see 3.2.3); ——the relevant requirements of hand-push passenger stairs are added (see 3.2.2); ——the relevant requirements for braking performance are modified (see 3.5.6 and 3.5.7; 4.2.14 and 4.2.15 of Edition 2003); ——the requirements for endurance capacity of electric passenger stairs are added (see 3.5.8); ——the requirements for cab are added (see 3.6); ——the requirements for wind-resistant stability are added (see 3.4.9); ——the requirements for exhaust devices are added (see 3.3.6); ——the requirements for limits for exhaust pollutants from internal-combustion passenger stairs are added (see 3.9.3); ——the requirements for structural safety factor are added (see 3.7); ——the requirements related to reliability test are modified (see 3.11; 4.7 of Edition 2003). This standard was proposed by and is interpreted by the Airports Department of Civil Aviation Administration of China. This standard was approved by the Aircraft Airworthiness Certification Department of Civil Aviation Administration of China. This standard is under the jurisdiction of China Academy of Civil Aviation Science and Technology. Passenger stairs 1 Scope This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, labelling, marking and instructions for use, and packaging, transportation and storage of passenger stairs. This standard is applicable to all passenger stairs for passengers to get on and off aircrafts in the field of civil aviation. Note: The passenger stairs in this standard refer to the special equipment for passengers to get on and off the aircraft on the apron, which are usually classified into internal-combustion passenger stairs, electric passenger stairs and hand-push passenger stairs. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
