Cabin air filter for automobiles 1 Scope This document specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of cabin air filters. [Source: GB/T 28950.2-2012, 4.5.3.1] 3.9 antibacterial process of eliminating or reducing bacteria and fungi on the action object by chemical or physical methods [Source: GB/T 21551.1-2008, 3.3] 3.10 preventing mildew process of killing mildew or impeding its growth, reproduction and activity by chemical or physical methods [Source: GB/T 21551.1-2008, 3.4] 4 Classification and requirements 4.1 Classification of air filters 4.1.1 According to the requirement for air quality of automobile passenger and driver compartments, the requirements of the air-conditioning system for air cleanliness, air filter installation space location, filtering area, filtering media type, air-conditioning unit power, manufacturing and other factors, the classification of air filters shall be negotiated by the supplier and the purchaser, and written into the agreement, contract, product drawings and other documents, products of the same category shall be consistent in the various performance indicators. 4.1.2 Air filters are classified into particle filters, combination filters and multi-functional filters by their functions. Air filters within each of the three categories are classified into sub-categories based on performance attributes. Particle filters are classified into Categories I, II and III; combination and multi-functional filters into Categories I and II. 4.2 Prohibited substances Materials used in air filters shall comply with the provisions on prohibited and restricted substances in the Global Automotive Declarable Substances List (GADSL) and be declared in IMDS or CAMDS. They shall comply with the provisions on content limits of prohibited substances in GB/T 30512-2014, 4.2. 4.3 Cleanliness The cleanliness of an air filter shall be ≤ 0.15qve in milligrams (mg). Note 1: qve is the rated air flow rate of an air filter, in cubic meters per hour (m3/h); Note 2: The factor (0.15) preceding qve is in milligrams per cubic meter per hour [mg/(m³/h)].
