1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions of restraining devices for child occupants of power-driven vehicles (hereinafter referred to as child restraint system), the requirements for installation and fixation on vehicles, structure of restraint system as well as performance requirements and test methods for restraint system assembly and its component parts.
This standard applies to child restraint systems which are suitable for installation in power-driven vehicles having three or more wheels, and which are not intended for use with folding (tip-up) or with side-facing seats.
