1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This code is established with a view to normalizing and unifying the test methods of bitumen and bituminous mixtures, and ensuring the quality of bitumen and bituminous mixtures for highway engineering.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the performance tests in design, construction, curing, quality inspection, acceptance, etc. stages of highway bituminous pavement.
1.0.3 All the instruments and equipments used in this code shall be periodically verified by corresponding metrological service or testing organization as qualified, and the test error shall meet the requirements of this code and other relevant regulations.
1.0.4 The measurement unit shall adopt the national legal one. The imported or original instruments and equipments not conforming to the national legal measurement unit shall be converted to the legal measurement unit for use.
1.0.5 The test personnel shall be provided with elementary knowledge of bituminous materials, and comply with safety operation and environmental protection requirements.
1.0.6 Where measuring instruments and equipments different from those specified in this code are used, they must be verified as qualified. The test technical index, test allowable error and basic test conditions shall meet the requirements of this code.
1.0.7 The calculation and expression of all the test results shall meet the requirements of significant figures. The allowable error of the repeatability and reproducibility test results shall meet the requirements of this code.
1.0.8 The test of bitumen and bituminous mixtures for highway engineering shall not only comply with the requirements of this code, but also the current relevant national and professional standards. The test items not specified in this code may refer to the test methods in the domestic and foreign relevant standards, but shall be indicated in the test report.
