1 Scope
This document defines the terms and definitions for sunflowerseed oil, specifies its classification, relative density and fatty acid composition, quality requirements, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, storage, transportation, and sale, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document applies to crude sunflowerseed oil and finished sunflowerseed oil. The quality indicators for crude sunflowerseed oil apply only to the trade of crude sunflowerseed oil.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
sunflowerseed oil
Oil extracted from sunflower seeds.
3.1.1
high linoleic acid sunflowerseed oil
Sunflowerseed oil (3.1) with an oleic acid content less than 75% of the total fatty acids.
3.1.2
high oleic acid sunflowerseed oil
Sunflowerseed oil (3.1) with an oleic acid content of 75% or more of the total fatty acids.
3.2
crude sunflowerseed oil
Oil extracted from sunflower seeds, not intended for direct human consumption.
Note: Also known as raw sunflowerseed oil.
3.3
finished product of sunflowerseed oil
Oil intended for human consumption, obtained by processing crude sunflowerseed oil (3.2).
3.3.1
pressing sunflowerseed oil
Finished sunflowerseed oil obtained by refining crude sunflowerseed oil (3.2) produced by mechanically pressing sunflower seeds.
3.3.1.1
sunflowerseed kernel oil
Finished sunflowerseed oil obtained by pressing, after processing steps including complete dehulling, decorticating, color sorting, and potentially roasting or cooking of sunflower kernels.
3.3.2
solvent extraction sunflowerseed oil
Finished sunflowerseed oil obtained by refining crude sunflowerseed oil (3.2) produced by extracting oil from sunflower seed material or pressed cake using the property of solvents to dissolve fats.
4 Classification
4.1 Sunflowerseed oil is classified into crude sunflowerseed oil and finished sunflowerseed oil based on the degree of processing.
4.2 Based on the main fatty acid composition, sunflowerseed oil is classified into high linoleic acid sunflowerseed oil and high oleic acid sunflowerseed oil.
4.3 Finished sunflowerseed oil is classified into pressing sunflowerseed oil and solvent extraction sunflowerseed oil based on the processing technology.
5 Relative Density and Fatty Acid Composition
The relative density and fatty acid composition of sunflowerseed oil are shown in Table 1. These compositions and parameters represent the basic characteristics of sunflowerseed oil and are for reference only when used for authenticity determination.

4 Classification
