本标准规定了金属管环拉伸试验方法的原理、试样、试验设备、试验程序、试验结果评定和试验报告。本标准适用于外径大于150mm和管壁厚度不大于40mm，但内径应大于100mm的圆形横截面金属管的管环拉伸试验，用以显示其表面和内部缺陷。也可用以评定管材的延性。
