本标准规定了一种用于一般分析目的时校准X射线光电子能谱仪结合能标尺的方法,该谱仪使用非单色化Al或Mg X射线或单色化Al X射线。它仅适于带有溅射清洁用的离子枪的仪器。本标准还进一步规定了一种方法,用以建立校准程序、在中间某一能量值测试结合能标尺线性度、在高低结合能区各取一点确认标尺校准的不确定度、对标尺的小漂移作修正以及规定在95%置信度时该结合能标尺校准的扩展不确定度。这个不确定度包括来自实验室际研究中观察到的现象的贡献,但不涵盖所有可能发生的缺陷。本标准不适用有下述情况的仪器:结合能标尺的误差随能量明显非线性变化、工作在固定减速比模式且减速比小于10、谱仪的分辨率差于1.5 eV或者要求容差极限为 ±0.03 eV或更小。本标准不提供全标尺校准检验,该检验要对每一个在能量标尺上能找到的点加以验证,需按仪器制造商的推荐程序进行。
