1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This code is formulated with view to making the power plant seawater desalination system to meet the requirements of safety, reliability, economic rationality and environmental protection.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the design of the reverse osmosis and distillation desalination system for thermal power plant and nuclear power plant.
1.0.3 The design of seawater desalination system for power plant shall comply with the national capital construction policy and reflect the national economic policy and technical policy so as to combine the engineering characteristics, reasonably select the main process, conserve resources, protect the environment as well as improve the working condition and the economic benefit. It shall be convenient to the installation, operation and maintenance and shall realize technical advancement, reasonable process, safety and reliability.
1.0.4 The seawater desalination process shall be selected based on the construction conditions of power plant, reliability and stability requirements of water supply, project investment, water production cost and environmental protection requirements through technical and economical comparison, and shall meet the following principles:
1 The seawater desalination process and parameter shall be determined according to main process system, external conditions, water consumption and water quality requirements of power plant;
2 The combination of different desalinization processes may be adopted for seawater desalination to reduce the energy consumption, water production cost and emission as well as for the convenience of operation management, overhaul and maintenance.
1.0.5 Main design parameters such as the vapor parameters, gained output ratio, water recovery rate and individual unit capacity of device of seawater desalination system shall be determined through technical and economical comparison according to specific engineering conditions.
1.0.6 The drainage quality of seawater desalination system shall comply with relevant current standards of China.
1.0.7 The arrangement of seawater desalination station shall be determined according to the water supply point and discharge point of water (vapor) source and product, and shall meet the overall planning requirements of power plant. Extension conditions shall be reserved in the design where the seawater desalination station is in stage construction.
1.0.8 The extension or reconstruction design of seawater desalination station shall be in such a way to reasonably utilize the existing buildings and water treatment facilities.
1.0.9 The seawater desalination system of power plant shall not only meet the requirements stipulated in this code, but also comply with those in the current relevant national standards.
