本标准于１９８８年首次发布。本标准规定了用硅钼蓝比色法测定硅酸盐的通用方法。本标准适用于化学试剂中微量硅酸盐或氟硅酸盐的测定。分光光度法或目视比色法的检验范围为0.2ug/mL~3ug/mL（以SiO 计）。本标准代替ＧＢ／Ｔ９７４２—１９８８《化学试剂　硅酸盐测定通用方法》，与ＧＢ／Ｔ９７４２—１９８８相比主要变化如下：
———完善了分光光度法的测定（１９８８年版的第６章；本版的６．２）。
———取消了附录Ａ（１９８８年版的附录Ａ）。
