1 Application scope 1.0.1 In the engineering design of chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and pesticide production plants, utility material stations (also called hose stations or utility stations) shall be set near the process equipment, pipes and places that need temporary cleaning and nitrogen replacement. Corresponding utility material stations shall be set according to different process conditions and requirements and material properties. The utility material station is an essential facility for safe operation of the process, ensuring product quality and output, and equipment maintenance and cleaning. 1.0.2 The utility material station is usually not used in normal process operation, and shall not be used as the supply source of common or temporary utility materials in process operation. It is only used as a supplementary source of utility materials at the stages of cleaning, replacement, preparation before start-up, accident treatment , maintenance, etc. 2 Setting 2.0.1 Materials set for utility material stations 2.0.1.1 Steam, water, compressed air and nitrogen are usually set in utility material stations. When entering the plant, the steam, water, compressed air and nitrogen in the utility material station must be through different pipes from those used in the process production itself, that is, the utility material station must be provided with special lines for steam, water, compressed air and nitrogen, so that the utility material station can still work normally when the plant is shut down. 2.0.1.2 The types of materials in the utility material station shall be increased or decreased according to the characteristics and requirements of the process. (1) During plant cleaning and purging, if the process requirements can be met just by steam, water and compressed air, nitrogen may not be set in the utility material station. (2) During plant cleaning and purging, in addition to steam, water, compressed air and nitrogen, if some equipment needs steam to extinguish fire (such as fire extinguishing and cooling of fuel gas heating furnace), fire extinguishing steam shall also be set in the utility material station.
