1 Classification and selection of blind flanges
1.0.1 Blind flanges are mainly used to completely separate the production medium, so as to prevent the production from being affected or even causing accidents due to loose closure of shut-off valves. They are generally classified into spectactle blind, spade and spacer ring (spade and spacer ring are each other's spacers) by appearance.
1.0.2 A blind flange shall be set at the position where separation (cutting off) is required, such as the equipment nozzle, before and after the shut-off valve or between two flanges. It is generally recommended to use spectacle blind; spades (round blind flanges) may be used at the positions for single use such as pressuring and purging.
