本标准规定了纤维水泥电缆管及其接头的术语和定义、分类、形状与规格、代号、标记、原材料、要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志与合格证、运输、包装与贮存。
本标准适用于采用抄取法工艺（或流浆法工艺）生产的以水泥为胶凝材料，无机矿物纤维、有机合成纤维或者植物纤维为主要增强材料制成的，适用于铺设电力、通讯或其它领域保护电线或电缆的电缆管及其接头。
