Chapter I General Rules
1.0.1 The fine grain powder collected from exhaust-smoke discharged from pulverized fuel fired boiler is called fly ash. The fly ash can be divided into dry fly ash or wet fly ash according to its discharging mode. This specification is specially drafted for the purpose of correct and reasonable application of fly ash in concrete and mortar.
The fly ash, which met the requirements of this specification can be used as the mixed material of concrete and mortar.
1.0.2 This specification is applicable to the concrete and mortar blending with fly ash for general industry or civilian building structure or buildings (hereafter referred to as simply fly-ash concrete and fly ash mortar).
1.0.3 In addition to meet the requirements of this specification, the fly-ash concrete and fly ash mortar should also conform to relevant provisions in corresponding know-how standard, rules and regulations.

Section 1 Quality index
2.1.1 Fly ash can be divided into I, II and III grades according to its quality. The quality index of fly ash should conform to provisions in Table 2.1.1.
