Part 9: Symbols for Accessible Facilities
1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 10001 specifies the public information graphical symbols for use on sign (hereinafter referred to as graphical symbols) in terms of accessible facilities for the disabled, seniors, injured and other people who have special demands.
This Part is applicable to such public places as airports, stations, wharfs, shopping malls, hospitals, banks, post offices, schools, parks and various venues as well as transport vehicles and other service facilities, and specifically to the designing of guiding elements, such as position signs, guiding signs, plane sketches, information boards and street block guiding maps in the public information guidance system. This Part is still applicable to the graphical symbols whose sizes are greater than 10 mm× 10 mm in publications and other information carriers.

For dated reference, subsequent amendments to (excluding corrigenda), or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, all parties coming to an agreement according to this Part are encouraged to study whether the latest edition of these documents is applicable.
