1.1  It is prepared according to the Document JIANZHI [2005] No. 137 of the Ministry of Construction-"Notice on Printing 'Preparation Work Plan of National Building Standard Design in 2005'".

2  Preparation purpose
This Atlas is prepared with a view to adapting the rapid development of construction industry, meeting the demand of different users, and achieving the purpose of enabling the technical personnel of electrical engineering of civil buildings to rapidly search and improving the design and construction quality.
3  Preparation principle
This Atlas is prepared based on the current national standard and the national building standard design; on one hand, the standard drawings with large application and extensive coverage in electrical engineering of civil buildings are extracted and collected; on the other hand, the new technology, new product and new method for electrical industry of civil buildings in the last few years are supplemented, and then a set (8 volumes) of commonly-used and practical standard atlas of "Electrical Design and Construction of Civil Buildings" is prepared.
4  Application scope
This Atlas is applicable to the electrical design of general newly-built, renovated and expanded civil building engineering and may be used for the reference of supervision, construction and acceptance of building electrical engineering.
5  Preparation mode
5.1  The concentrated description for the main design points of general character of various buildings is detailed in Page 4~11.
5.2  The separate description for the main design points of individual character of various buildings is detailed in Page 12~70.
5.3  The main design points of general character are not repeated in the main design points of individual character of various buildings.
6  Main content
This Atlas covers 11 common building types such as residential building, commercial building, museum building, hotel building, hospital building, garage building, office building, school building, theater building, library building and sports building in civil buildings. According to the characteristics of various buildings, the main points to be mastered in the design process for various buildings are introduced mainly; the main design points cover load grade, power supply, low-voltage distribution system, metering mode, lighting, lightning protection and earthing, intelligent system, electrical equipment room and electrical shaft arrangement, problems to be noticed in design, etc.
