1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification of the heat intensity of hot work environment and the limits of allowable continuous heat exposure time and rest time for the ones working in hot environments. This standard is applicable to the multi-level management of occupational safety and health for hot environment work. The limits of allowable continuous heat exposure time are applicable to general indoor hot environment work.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 Productive hot source The production equipments, products or work pieces which can generate and emit heat in production. 3.2 Workplace All the places where workers are engaged in occupational activities. 3.3 Work site The places where the workers stay frequently or regularly to operate or observe the production status. The whole workshop can be referred as a worksite if a worker, as demanded by the production, operates at different points in a workshop. 3.4 WBGT-index
