本标准规定了1：50 000水文地质调查工作的任务与总则、调查区水文地质复杂程度分类与工作量定额、设计书编制与审批、调查内容、技术方法、综合评价以及成果编制与验收。
本标准适用于1：50 000区域水文地质调查，其他比例尺的水文地质调查也可参照执行。
