FZ/T 52049-2018 Alginate staple fibre
1 Scope
This document specifies the terms and definitions, categories and identification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage for alginate staple fibre. This document is applicable to alginate staple fibre with linear density of 0,80 dtex~7,00 dtex ,with sodium alginate as raw material. Other types of alginate staple fibre may refer to this document as well.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 3291.1, GB/T 3291.3, GB/T 4146(whole) and the following apply.
3.1
alginate
salt produced by the reaction of alginic acid with Na
3.2
alginate staple fibre
staple fibre with alginate content more than 85%, which is produced by spinning with sodium alginate as raw material
4 Categories and identification
4.1 Product categories
According to application, there are two categories—alginate staple fibre for spun or for non-woven.
4.2 Product specification
The specification of staple fibre is expressed in terms of its linear density and length.
EXAMPLE 1,67 dtex × 38 mm or 2,78 dtex × 51 mm
4.3 Product identification
Alginate staple fibre is clearly identified by information, such as its specification, product categories, product name and batch number.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Performance items and quality indexes
The requirements listed in Table 1 shall be met
