Samples are taken from three different parts, i.e., upper, middle and lower parts, of the sampled product during sampling. 3.1.3 Sampling quantity: four samples are taken, with the minimum amount of 500kg; the mass of each sample is about 250g, and the quantity of samples shall be greater than half of the total quantity of a batch. For each 500kg increase in batch size, the quantity of samples taken is one tenth of the quantity increased. 3.2 Sampling of laboratory specimens 3.2.1 Sampling tools: clean and sealable metal sample tube for water content testing while clean cloth bag, paper bag and plastic bag for sampling for other items. 3.2.2 Sampling quantity: the mass of each sample is 250g at least. 3.2.3 Sampling method, same as that in 3.1.2. 3.3 Specimen preparation 3.3.1 Sample homogenization: mix the samples taken from this batch, divide them into four portions with square dichotomy, and then take each portion as four homogenized specimen. The mass of each sample is about 250g. 3.3.2 For four homogenized specimens, two are used for testing, one for standby and one for storage. 3.3.3 Storage time: six months generally, which may be extended to one year in special circumstance.
