This part is applicable to fork needles for needle loom used for napping or patterning of nonwovens, knitting and woven fabrics (hereinafter referred to as "the fork needles").

fork needles
device on the needle loom, which is used for napping or patterning of nonwovens, knitting and woven fabrics by its forks

fork width
width of the fork inner side of the fork needles, see Figure 1

fork depth
depth of the fork inner side of the fork needles, see Figure 1
4 Classification and basic structure
4.1 Classification
The fork needles are divided into two types by the fork dimensions:
——Common type, whose fork width is ≥ 0.1 mm, with code of "1";
——Narrow-necked type, whose fork width is < 0.1 mm, with code of "9".
4.2 Basic structure
The basic structure of the fork needle is shown in Figure 1.

L1——nominal length d——diameter of working part;
L2——length of working part; d0——diameter of shank;
w——fork width; d1——diameter of shank in the first middle part;
h——fork depth; d2——diameter of shank in the second middle part.
