This standard is applicable to the determination of chloride in natural water, appropriately diluted water with high mineralization degree such as salt water and sea water, and pretreated and interfering substance-free domestic sewage or industrial waste water.
This standard is applicable to chlorides with a concentration range of 10~500mg/L. The determination range of water samples whose concentration exceeds the above range, after diluting, may be expanded.
Bromides, iodides and cyanides may be titrated together with chlorides. There are interferences where the concentration of orthophosphate and polyphosphates exceeds 250mg/L and 25mg/L respectively. The end point is made unobvious where the ferrous content exceeds 10mg/L.
