本标准规定了船用声光报警信号器的通用技术要求，试验方法，检验规则和标志、包装、运输、贮存。
本标准适用于船上与安全有关的声光报警信号器，如：指示灯、旋转闪光灯或不带此类闪光灯的机电式报警器及电子式报警器。
本标准不适用于下列场合：a.存在腐蚀性和爆炸性的特殊条件下使用的报警器；b.船舶之间或船与岸之间航行用的报警器。
