This document replaces GB 14866-2006 The specifications for personal eye-protectors and GB 32166.1-2016 Personal protective equipment - Eye and face protection - Occupational eye and face protectors - Part 1: Requirements. In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB 14866-2006: ——The clause "Scope" has been modified, with addition of inapplicable products (see Clause 1 hereof; Clause 1 of Edition 2006); ——The terms such as "lenses covering one eye", "lenses covering both eyes" and "astigmatic power" and their definitions have been added (see Clause 3 hereof); ——According to the development and changes of eye and face protection products, the schematic diagrams of eye and face protection products have been modified, and the types of products have been added (see Clause 4 hereof; 4.1.3 of Edition 2006); ——The subclause "Lens types" has been deleted (see 4.2 of Edition 2006); ——The subclause "Functions of eye-protectors" has been deleted (see 4.3 of Edition 2006); ——The requirements for materials, structure and maintenance of eye and face protection products have been modified (see Clause 5 hereof; 5.1 and 5.2 of Edition 2006); ——The requirements for the field of view of eye and face protection products have been added (see 6.1 hereof); ——The subclause "Lens specifications" has been deleted (see 5.4 of Edition 2006); ——The requirements for geometrical optical performance have been modified (see 6.2 hereof; 5.6 of Edition 2006); ——The geometrical optical requirements for eye and face protection products with vision correction function have been added (see 6.3 hereof); ——The requirements for luminous transmittance of eye and face protection products without filtering action have been modified (see 7.1 hereof; 5.6.3 of Edition 2006); ——The physical optical requirements such as scattered light, reflectance and traffic signal light recognition have been added (see Clause 7 hereof); … General technical specification for eye and face protector 1 Scope This document specifies the classification, general requirements, geometrical optical performance requirements, physical optical performance requirements, physical and mechanical performance requirements, identification, information to be provided by the manufacturer, etc. of eye and face protection products. It is applicable to the protective products or parts used to protect eyes or face in production and life.
