GB 15365-2025 Symbols for controls; indicators and tell-tales for motorcycles and mopeds
1 Scope
This document specifies the general requirements, position requirements and color requirements for symbols for controls, indicators and tell-tales for motorcycles and mopeds.
This document is applicable to the indicators, tell-tales installed on the instrument panels, and controls close to the driver of motorcycles and mopeds (hereinafter referred to as "motorcycles").

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
control
a component manually operated by the driver to change the working condition or function of a certain device on a motorcycle
3.2
indicator
a device that shows the function or working condition of a motorcycle and its components
Note: Such as scale values, digital displays, etc.
3.3
tell-tale
when illuminated, it indicates that a certain device on the motorcycle is activated, or the functional status of the motorcycle and its components is normal or failure, or a light signal of a certain functional failure
3.4
symbol
visual graphics used to identify controls, indicators and tell-tales
3.5
common space
area that can display symbols or other information corresponding to two or more indicators or tell-tales asynchronously
4 Requirements
4.1 General requirements
4.1.1 The symbols on the controls and tell-tales shall have a distinct contrast with their background color to achieve a striking effect. The coating (plating) layer shall be permanently maintained and shall not be easily peeled off by fingers.
4.1.2 When controls, indicators or tell-tales with the same function are combined together, they are allowed to share a single symbol.
4.1.3 The common space used for displaying multiple types of information shall meet the following requirements:
a) When two or more signal devices are activated, the information shall be automatically repeated in sequence or viewed by the drivers at their option;
b) The tell-tales of the anti-lock braking system failure, high beam and turn signal light shall not set to be displayed in the same common space;
c) If any one of tell-tales for the anti-lock braking system failure, high beam, or turn signal light is set to be displayed in a common space, the activation sequence shall take precedence over any other information;

4 Requirements
