1 Scope
This document specifies the determination of the same type, general requirements, photometric requirements, tests and inspection rules for light-signalling devices for motorcycle sand mopeds.
This document is applicable to the design, manufacture and acceptance of front position lamps, rear position lamps, stop lamps, direction-indicator lamps, reverse lamps and rear license plate lighting devices for categories L1 to L5 vehicles.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 4785 and GB 18100 and the following apply.
3.1
light-signalling device
a unit or a group of units used to send light signals to other road users, indicating the presence of a vehicle or a change in its motion state, to achieve one or more functions
Note: It is referred to as "device" in this document, including one or more of front position lamp, rear position lamp, stop lamp, direction-indicator lamp, reversing lamp and rear license plate lighting device.
4 Determination of the same type
Light-signalling devices that do not differ in the following main characteristics shall be deemed to be of the same type:
— the manufacturer;
— device model
— the number, type, lighting principle and light source module structure of replaceable or non-replaceable light sources used;
— the number and structure of main optical elements (e.g. reflectors, lamp lens, light conductor and variable luminous intensity control gear).
— device category.
5 General requirements
5.1 General
5.1.1 Devices shall be so designed and made that they shall be able to meet the service requirements and comply with this document under normal service conditions though subjected to vibration.
