本标准规定了变性燃料乙醇的定义、要求、试验方法、检验规则和标志、包装、运输、贮存要求。本标准适用于以淀粉质、唐质为原料，经发酵、蒸馏制得乙醇，脱水后，再添加变性剂（车用无铅汽油）变性的燃料乙醇。它可以按规定的比例与汽油混合作为车用点燃式内燃机的燃料。
