1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements for venues and facilities, hygiene and environmental requirements, safety assurance requirements, and signage requirements for the opening of karting circuits.
This document applies to competition karting circuits open to the public.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 34311 and the following apply.
3.1 kart
A micro racing vehicle that maintains continuous ground contact with at least four wheels not in a single line, with front-wheel steering and rear-wheel drive, where the propulsion force and steering are continuously and completely controlled by the driver.
3.2 competition kart
A kart effectively registered with the relevant sports administrative department or authorized body, used for participating in competitions where results are determined by completion time.
3.3 karting circuit
Indoor or outdoor venue space that can meet the needs of people engaged in karting training, competition, fitness, and leisure activities.
3.4 safety equipment
Clothing and accessories that provide protective functions for drivers in karting sports.
4 Venue, Facility, and Equipment Requirements
4.1 Venue
4.1.1 Before opening to the public, the karting circuit shall conduct safety inspections of the venue, facilities, and equipment to ensure they are in a safe condition.
4.1.2 The karting circuit shall be regularly inspected and maintained. If damage occurs or safety for karting activities cannot be ensured, immediate circuit repairs or product replacement shall be organized.
4.1.3 The karting circuit mainly includes the following requirements:
The design and safety evaluation of the track shall be based on track safety simulation;
The curbs and pavement of the track shall comply with current national and industry standards and also meet the safety requirements for karting competition;
The location and structural form of safety facilities, competition facilities, and ancillary facilities shall comply with karting competition requirements and competitive safety, and products shall be provided with a product quality certificate and product conformity certificate;
The karting circuit shall be equipped with safety facilities such as impact-absorbing barriers, run-off areas, special curbs, special crash barriers, and special protective nets;
The karting circuit shall be equipped with competition facilities such as start/finish line equipment, marshal posts, signs and markings, timing system, monitoring system, signal light system, broadcast system, and communication system;
The karting circuit shall be equipped with ancillary facilities such as water supply and drainage systems, and power and electrical systems.
4.1.4 The lighting of the karting circuit shall ensure illumination uniformity, and necessary measures shall be taken to limit glare based on the circuit conditions and racing requirements. For hosting international karting events at night, the track illumination shall not be less than 200 lx, and the illumination in the run-off area and vehicle inspection area shall not be less than 150 lx.
4.2 Functional Buildings
4.2.1 Functional buildings mainly include the pit area, control center, medical center, and timing center.
4.2.2 The karting circuit shall be equipped with functional buildings that meet the needs of karting competitions and daily operations.
4.2.3 The medical center shall have medical assistance facilities, medical assistance, and rescue personnel. When hosting a competition, medical emergency vehicles shall be provided.
