1 Scope
This standard specifies technical requirements, calculation of energy consumption per unit time of displays, calculation of energy efficiency, Measurement methods and inspection rules of computer monitors (hereinafter referred to as "displays") for general purpose.
This standard is applicable to liquid crystal displays for computers, as well as to display equipment with major function of computer monitor and having tuner/receiver.
This standard is not applicable to displays for engineering, medical treatment, industrial equipment and other special purposes.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
Off mode
The display connected to power supply, and the power switch of display is in "off" mode.
Note: Power switch including soft switch and hard switch.
3.2
Sleep mode
The display not displays image in the mode of not turn off. This state may be entered into by customer option, or may be automatic entered into after no signal input for a period of time. It may be entered into operating mode by connecting device or user operation.
