1 General Provisions 1.0.1 This code is formulated in order to implement laws, regulations and policies related to the national current coal industry; safeguard safety production and production personnel health in mines; improve labor conditions and labor efficiency; make the design of prevention and elimination of thermal disaster achieve advanced technology, safety and reliability, and economic rationality, in the design of prevention and elimination of thermal disaster in coal mines. 1.0.2 This code is applicable to the design of prevention and elimination of thermal disaster in coal mines. 1.0.3 Special design shall be carried out for the prevention and elimination of thermal disaster in coal mines; domestic and overseas existing scientific achievements and mature experiences shall be popularized; new technologies, new facilities, new materials and new processes shall be adopted according to the local conditions; prevention and elimination effect and economic benefit shall be improved gradually. 1.0.4 As for the design of prevention and elimination of thermal disaster in coal mines, not only the requirements stipulated in this code, but also those in the current relevant ones of the nation shall be complied with. 2 Terms 2.0.1 Mine meteorological condition Mine meteorological condition refers to the comprehensive state of air in mines such as dry-bulb temperature, relative temperature and wind speed. 2.0.2 Effective temperature Effective temperature is the air dry-bulb temperature (air temperature) that makes people generate some kind of thermal sensation under zero wind speed and 100% relative temperature, representing the combination of different wind speed, relative humidity and air temperature that makes people generate the same thermal sensation. 2.0.3 Hot mines Hot mines refer to the thermal and humid operating environment in the mine that may influence human health, reduce labor productivity and endanger safety production. 2.0.4 Thermal disaster mine Thermal disaster mine refers to the mine whose meteorological indexes in the mine operation places exceed the requirements of the current regulations and standards. 2.0.5 Geothermal geological parameters Geothermal geological parameters include temperature and depth of constant temperature zone; geothermal gradient; primitive rock temperature; thermal conductivity, specific heat, volume and quality of rock (coal); temperature, flow and pressure of hot water. 2.0.6 Mean meteorological parameters in the hottest month Mean meteorological parameters in the hottest month refer to the mean value of air dry-bulb temperature, relative humidity and atmospheric pressure in the ground hottest month. 2.0.7 Same direction ventilation The transportation direction of coal and recrement is the same as the air current direction. 2.0.8 Mine cooling by refrigeration Mine cooling by refrigeration refers to various refrigeration methods adopted to make the meteorological conditions in the mine operation places reach the specified standards. 2.0.9 Mine cooling system Mine cooling system refers to the system composed of refrigerator, mine air cooler, pipes, accessories and instruments for the purpose of mine cooling by refrigeration. 2.0.10 Mine cooling modes Mine cooling modes refer to the arrangement and combination modes of mine cooling system. 2.0.11 Coupling device for high and low pressure of chilled medium Coupling device for high and low pressure of chilled medium is the device for cooling low-pressure chilled medium by high-pressure low-temperature chilled medium or depressurizing high-pressure low-temperature chilled medium and then sending into the mine air cooler. 3 Environmental Meteorological Conditions in Mine Operation Places 3.0.1 Air temperature in the excavating surface in mines and electromechanical equipment chamber shall comply with relevant requirements in the current "Safety regulations in coal mine". 3.0.2 Environmental meteorological conditions in mine operation places should be evaluated comprehensively with air temperature, relative humidity and wind speed, or the mine meteorological condition can be evaluated with effective temperature index (see Annex A of this code for the calculation method of effective temperature).
