This method is applicable to qualitatively testing the adhesion between the metal deposit and the basis metal or basis plastic.
This standard is developed by reference to the international standard ISO 2819-1980 Metallic coatings on metallic substrates - Electrodeposited and chemically deposited coatings - Review of methods available for testing adhesion.
1 Principle
The various methods described below all make use of the differences in physical and mechanical properties between the coating and the substrate. Under the action of an external force, they observe whether the coating peels off. Different methods are selected depending on the substrate material, shape, application, and type of coating of the specimen.
