本标准规定了投光照明灯具的光度特性测试方法，并指导投光照明灯具光度测试的设施、试验操作和提出投光照明灯具的光度测试报告。本标准适用于室内外大面积照明所使用的投光照明灯具的光度测试，半峰边角小于2°的（如探照灯）不属此范畴。只适用于对视觉有稳定照明的这一类灯具，不适用于闪光照明灯具。本测试技术不包括信号灯、道路灯和车辆头灯。
