本标准规定了水及燃气管道用球墨铸铁管、管件和附件的定义、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、包装、标志及质量证明书等。本标准代替ＧＢ／Ｔ１３２９５―２００３《水及燃气管道用球墨铸铁管、管件和附件》，与ＧＢ／Ｔ１３２９５―２００３相比主要变化如下：
―――对标准中的部分术语进行了重新定义；
―――将ＮⅡ 型和ＳⅡ 型接口型式改为了ＮⅠ 型和Ｓ型，同时修改了相应的压兰和密封圈尺寸；
―――修改了ＤＮ４０～ＤＮ１０００的内径允许偏差；
―――修改了部分管件的重量，并将球铁管、管件和附件的重量及允许偏差要求放在了附录Ｆ（资料性附录）里；
―――增加了ＮⅠ 型和Ｓ型接口用螺栓要求；
―――修改了凝水缸的尺寸和重量；
―――本标准将承堵和插堵要求由标准正文改放在了附录Ｅ（资料性附录）里，原来的附录Ｅ 至附录Ｊ改为附录Ｇ 至附录Ｌ。
