本标准规定了使用燃料的工业炉热平衡测定与计算的基本规则。一般加热炉的热平衡测定与计算可直接参照一标准执行，对一些特殊类型的工业炉，可根据本标准制订其相应的标准。本标准适用于使用燃料的工业炉，如轧钢加热炉、均热炉、热处理炉、冲天炉等以及各种用途的隧道窑、倒焰窑和其他工业炉窑等。本标准中所列的测定项目对各类工业炉不是必须全部进行的，本标准也没有包括各类工业炉所有的热平衡测定项目。各类工业炉的测定项目应在其《热平衡标准》中具体规定，补充列出本标准所未包括的项目。
