本标准规定了测定原油和液体或固体石油产品密度或相对密度的方法。本标准中毛细管塞比重瓶法适用于测定固体和按GB8017测定雷德蒸气压不大于50kPa(0.5bar)的挥发性液体及初馏点不低于40℃的石油产品。本标准中带刻度双毛细管比重瓶法适用于准确地测定除较粘稠产品和固体产品外的所有液体石油产品，特别适用于测定高挥发性及测定试样量少的样品。本方法只限于测定按GB8017测定雷德蒸气压不大于130kPa(1.3bar)及在测定温度下按GB265测定运动粘度小于50mm2/s的液体。
