本标准规定了湿热环境用机械产品的气候防护类型及使用环境条件、试验方法、检验规则、标志、包装、运输、贮存及保护要求。本标准未作规定及说明者，应按产品的有关专业标准规定。本标准适用于GB4797.1《电工电子产品自然环境条件温度和湿度》规定的“湿热”气候区使用的一般用途机械产品。产品大类包括农机具、内燃机、工程机械、矿山机械、重型机械、起重运输机械、石化通用机械、电工产品、仪器仪表、机床工具、通用零部件等。本标准不适用于湿热地区中存在化学腐蚀介质、爆炸危险介质，及海洋、船舶、矿井等特殊环境条件下使用的产品。
